Senseverse

Use Cases

Overview

The SENSE project will create interconnected virtual worlds to boost citizen engagement and foster a sense of urban belonging. Led by Frontrunner Cities (Kiel, DE; and Cartagena, ES) and supported by Follower Cities across Europe (Arezzo, IT; Valongo, PT; Murcia, ES; Ulm, DE), the project will implement six real-world use cases, serving as a crucial step toward the deployment of the CitiVerse.

Cultural and Environmental (KIEL)

Creation of an interactive virtual space to educate and inspire tourists, residents, and young people about the importance of marine conservation.

Societal Preparedness and Infrastructure Resilience (KIEL)

Use case focused on realistic disaster simulations, engaging emergency services, residents, and vulnerable groups to boost civic participation and resilience.

Historical and Technological (KIEL)

An interactive virtual guide offering immersive journeys through Kiel’s history, culture, and landmarks. Visitors can explore, engage with the city’s past, and share personal stories, enriching Kiel’s living heritage.

Fostering Community Engagement (CARTAGENA)

It leverages citizen participation and interactive experiences to promote sustainability. By raising climate awareness and supporting environmental policies, it drives lasting impact through low-cost innovations and scalable public-private partnerships.

City Planning (CARTAGENA)

Immersive technologies to enhance urban planning, SME engagement, and city visualization, promoting sustainability, citizen participation, and economic growth.

Smart urban mobility (CARTAGENA)

This use case leverages IoT and real-time data to simulate sustainable transport, improving data sharing, interoperability, and smart mobility integration.
